Warm mix asphalt is paving mix that can be produced and compacted at lower temperatures than traditional hot mix asphalt materials for roadway development. This may result in reduced greenhouse gas (GHG) and asphalt emissions through lower operational temperature requirements at the plant and at the job site. PHALANX®, a specially engineered warm mix additive, is designed to improve compactability of hot asphalt mixes and Polymer Modified Bitumen (PMB) mixes. It helps reduce the paving temperature when laying down a roadway. PHALANX helps lower the carbon footprint, reduce energy consumption, and deliver overall cost savings.
Balancing Asphalt Performance and Sustainability with Warm Mix Additives
Paving industry professionals are increasingly struggling to address two critical priorities: enhancing roadway performance and meeting sustainability goals. With governments, contractors, and material producers under increasing pressure to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, technologies that support energy efficiency and a lower carbon footprint are increasingly in demand. Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA) and warm mix additives have risen in [...]
