Founder and President Krishna Srinivasan reflects on 20 years of Sripath Technologies

In 2006, when Sripath Technologies was founded, the bitumen and asphalt industry was facing a familiar but growing set of challenges: increasing performance demands, variable raw materials, cost pressures, and early signals that sustainability would soon become a defining expectation rather than a niche concern. For Krishna Srinivasan, Ph.D., those challenges were not abstract industry trends. They were problems he had spent decades encountering firsthand. 

 

With more than 25 years of hands-on experience across paving and roofing applications, Srinivasan launched Sripath Technologies with a clear philosophy: complex performance problems rarely require complicated answers. Instead, they demand a deep understanding of materials, practical field realities, and a willingness to rethink assumptions about how bitumen performance should be achieved.

From Technical Expertise to a New Kind of Additive Company 

Srinivasan's background in materials engineering, culminating in a Ph.D. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, provided the scientific foundation for Sripath's approach. But it was his field experience working directly with asphalt and roofing systems that shaped the company's defining mindset. He determined that performance should be engineered into the mix and not left to chance or raw material variability. 

 

Rather than relying on premium-grade bitumen alone to meet specifications, Sripath focused on developing dosage-efficient, cost-effective additives that enhance performance where it matters most. This back-to-basics philosophy allowed the company to address durability, workability, and long-term service life while helping customers manage increasingly inconsistent bitumen supplies.

PHALANX®, a warm mix additive, enables improved workability and lower production and compaction temperatures, helping reduce emissions while maintaining mix integrity.
