In the feature, AsphaltPro highlighted ButaPhalt as the first product introduced under Sripath's recent "Buta Business" acquisition. ButaPhalt is an innovative crosslinking additive engineered to improve PMB performance by allowing sulfur to more effectively bond polymers with bitumen. This unique chemistry can help reduce the amount of polymer required to achieve desired performance levels, delivering both economic and technical benefits. ButaPhalt helps reduce and absorb hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) emissions and odor to provide better working conditions. 

 

Formulated from a proprietary blend of sulfur powder, accelerators, surfactants, scavengers, absorbing agents, and specialty oils, ButaPhalt represents a highly efficient and versatile crosslinking solution. The product is available in two forms, a free-flowing, dust-free powder and a pumpable liquid suspension, making it adaptable to a wide range of production environments. This versatility helps ensure that asphalt producers can seamlessly integrate ButaPhalt into their existing operations. 

 

Beyond performance, ButaPhalt helps reduce hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) emissions and odor while also helping to reduce processing time, contributing to safer, cleaner, and more sustainable operations. It also improves thermal stability and handling, while lowering overall production costs — a clear win for producers looking to enhance PMB performance and operational efficiency.
