Sripath Technologies’ ReLIXER® has established itself as a leading choice in asphalt rejuvenation. With more than 10 years of proven application worldwide, ReLIXER supports the increasing use of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) in road construction. The June 2025 issue of Roads & Infrastructure Australia magazine takes a closer look at ReLIXER in Asia-Pac and its demonstrated success round the globe.

In Australia, RAP has grown to become the largest source of recycled material replacing conventional paving components. When RAP content exceeds 25% in asphalt mixes, rejuvenators are essential to restore the aged binder’s performance. ReLIXER stands out as a highly effective solution, helping contractors to reduce costs and carbon emissions while maintaining road durability and performance.

The product’s composition includes green bio-based oils that restore balance to aged bitumen in RAP. This reduces reliance on virgin bitumen and aggregates. ReLIXER is produced sustainably with high dosage efficiency, and its manufacturing process does not impact food sources. ReLIXER’s user-friendly formulation allows it to be easily integrated into mix plants. It is safe to handle and compatible with both conventional and polymer modified binders, which broadens its application across various regions and project types.

A national trial conducted in Queensland by the Australian Flexible Pavement Association demonstrated ReLIXER’s capability to perform under local conditions. The trial utilized a 40% RAP mix with ReLIXER in a heavily trafficked quarry road environment. This comprehensive trial included follow-up studies to evaluate the long-term durability and performance of the rejuvenated asphalt. The results confirmed that ReLIXER met regional viscosity and durability requirements, enabling more environmentally friendly road construction methods.

Ongoing trials continue to validate ReLIXER’s role in delivering superior fracture toughness and long-term aging performance in high-RAP mixes. These consistent findings support its reputation as a leading asphalt rejuvenator.
