About Krishna Srinivasan, PhD | President

Krishna Srinivasan, Ph.D., is currently the President of Sripath Technologies, providing leadership and strategic guidance across the Sripath Group of Companies. Srinivasan founded Sripath Technologies in 2006 out of recognition of the growing need across the bitumen and asphalt industry for innovative solutions to common obstacles facing industry professionals.

Embracing a back-to-basics approach, he spearheads product development with an eye to solving complex challenges with performance-achieving additives that also have a focus on sustainability. The result is a robust offering of bitumen-enhancing products that place an emphasis on delivering on mix performance requirements rather than relying on the quality of bitumen itself to meet specifications.

Over 25 years of hands-on experience working in the industry roles across paving and roofing prepared Srinivasan to navigate the technologies behind bitumen performance improvement. His unique experience with technical applications and commercial product development helped establish Sripath Technologies, and its subsidiaries, as a global brand recognized for innovative solutions that make asphalt better.

Understanding the different priorities of transportation departments, plant operators, contractors, and suppliers, Srinivasan directs Sripathโ€™s product R&D to address these concerns by developing dosage efficient, cost effective, environmentally friendly products that are backed by performance data. He also remains current with industry trends and activity across the bitumen market including the impact of changes in the crude oil industry on bitumen quality and performance and demand for products that may help lower carbon emissions.

Srinivasan has established a corporate culture of problem solving, industry collaboration, and transparency. He led the companyโ€™s public release of its Environmental Product Declarations. He has also established a vast network of researchers and educators around the world to participate in third-party testing and verification of Sripathโ€™s product portfolio.

Srinivasan is a sought-after thought leader, presenter, and lecturer for industry associations, events, and university programs all over the world. Among other credentials, Srinivasan holds Doctor of Philosophy degree in Materials Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

What Asphalt Crosslinking Actually Does and How ButaPhalt Is Different

Polymer modified bitumen (PMB)ย isย a cornerstone of asphaltย mixย design, enabling pavements thatย canย resist rutting, cracking, and aging under increasingly demanding traffic and climate conditions. While polymers provide the backbone of these performance improvements, the real durability of PMB depends on how effectively those polymers interact with the base bitumen. That interaction is where crosslinking plays a critical role.ย  ย  Crosslinking is often [...]

PGXpandยฎ: The Road to Better Bitumen Performance

Innovationย is often theย result of years of asking the right questions, testing assumptions, and refining ideas until chemistry and application finally align. Asย Sripathย Technologies celebrates 20 years of innovation,ย PGXpandยฎย stands as a clear example of this philosophy in action.ย  ย  PGXpandย was not developed to simply replicate what existing polymers already did for bitumen. Instead, its development began with a more fundamental challenge: [...]

Breaking the 30% RAP Barrier and Achieving High-RAP Content in Asphalt Roadways

The push to increase reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) usage has moved fromย purely aย sustainability talking point to a strategic priority for agencies and producers worldwide. Rising material costs, tightening environmental regulations, and growing pressure to reduce embodied carbon have made higher RAPย contentsย increasingly attractive. And yet, despite these incentives, many departments of transportation and asphalt producers continue to cap RAP usageย betweenย 20-30%.ย  [...]

How PGXpand is Evolving Polymer Modified Asphalt

Polymerย modifiedย asphalt (PMA), or polymerย modifiedย bitumen,ย has long been used to improve pavement durability under increasing traffic loads, climate variability, and performance-based specifications. Traditionally, PMA has relied onย elastomeric or plastomeric polymersย to enhance specific properties such as rutting resistanceย and durability. While effective, these approaches often introduce challenges related to storage stability, viscosity control, energy consumption, and cost.ย ย As the asphalt industry continues to prioritize sustainabilityย alongsideย long-term [...]
