From the AfPA website:
Asphalt is a valuable construction material 100% reusable.

Within the construction industry, asphalt is 100% reusable and can be considered fully circular since it can be used to manufacture the same product again and again.

The use of Reclaimed asphalt pavement can significantly reduce the need for virgin materials and therefore contributes to a reduction of Green House Gases (GHG) emitted from the road construction industry.

As such, its value and usage practices should be clearly identified. The reuse of RAP is an established practice worldwide and in Australia. To ensure greater content of RAP can be successfully used in asphalt, rejuvenators have been proved to provide significant benefits as they can effectively ‘rejuvenate’ the oxidised RAP binder by replenishing the lost maltenic fraction.

Join the AfPA National Tech Talk to learn about:

  • Environmental benefits of high RAP content asphalt mixes
  • Rejuvenators and their role to allow higher RAP content
  • Available rejuvenators in the market and case studies from around the world
