With reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) increasing in use across the United States, more departments of transportation, plants, and agencies are exploring how to increase their RAP usage without compromising roadway performance. Using an effective asphalt rejuvenator is essential to this process as it can restore the functional properties of the aged bitumen in RAP mixes.

Sripath Technologies President Krishna Srinivasan will be presenting “A Practical Guide on Using High-RAP Mixes” to address many of the science and technology-based questions surrounding RAP incorporation. From handling the material at an asphalt plant to dosage recommendations and mix design, Srinivasan will provide a primer for those looking for an environmentally sustainable, and economically advantageous, solution to high-RAP roadways that deliver on performance and durability. The webinar will benefit engineers, researchers, contractors, and policymakers aiming to make informed decisions in RAP implementation.

The webinar, scheduled for Tuesday, May 20 at 3:00 PM EDT (2:00 PM CDT), will be hosted by The University of Oklahoma in partnership with the Southern Plains Transportation Center (SPTC). The session agenda, which includes time for Q&A, will also cover the basics of how asphalt rejuvenation works, how to select an ideal rejuvenator, and how using a rejuvenator can impact roadway performance.

Srinivasan will present data from real-world trials and case studies featuring a range of global RAP applications. Importantly, dosing a high-RAP mix with an asphalt rejuvenator can help lower mix costs by reducing the need for fresh aggregates and virgin binder.

The SPTC represents a consortium of 11 academic institutions across the region, including consortium lead The University of Oklahoma, dedicated to exploring solutions to diverse transportation challenges. The SPTC provides ongoing research and educational programming to support the transportation industry. Srinivasan and the Sripath team look forward to participating in this important educational event.
