NuMIXER® with PGXpand® Expands Useful Temperature Range of Bitumen
The Useful Temperature Range of Bitumen can be effectively expanded by using PGXpand® in combination with NuMIXER®.
Consider the case of a Bitumen with a Softening Point of 49 °C and a Cold Mandrel Passing temperature of +5 °C. The addition of 5 % of NuMIXER and 2 % PGXpand to the Bitumen, improves the softening point to 93 °C and the Cold Mandrel Pass to -12°C.
Mixing in NuMIXER & PGXpand is easy. The viscosity of the modified product is lower than that of the base bitumen.
The Useful Temperature Range of Bitumen can be effectively expanded by using PGXpand® in combination with NuMIXER®.
Consider a base binder with a True Grade of PG 66-26. The addition of 5 % of NuMIXER and 2 % PGXpand to the Bitumen can improve the useful range from a True Grade of PG 66-23 to PG 80 -32.
